Tanzanian singer, Juma Mussa Mkambala, popularly known as Juma Jux, won Best East African Artiste at the 17th headies award.
With his songs, the artist who recently got married to Priscilla, the daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, in a lavish ceremony, has won over the hearts of many Nigerians.
The ‘Ololufe Mi’ crooner beat other nominees, including Bien (Kenya), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Bruce Melodie (Rwanda), and Azawi (Uganda), to win the coveted award at the ceremony held on Sunday at the Landmark Event Centre, Lekki.
The 17th edition of the Headies, tagged ‘Back to Base’, marked a vibrant return to Nigeria after being hosted abroad for two years.
Actress and media celebrity Nancy Isime and seasoned broadcaster IK Osakioduwa anchored the events.
Juma Jux also thrilled the audience with a captivating live performance during the event. The night featured electrifying performances from other artists, including Qing Madi, L.A.X, Odumodublvck, Kcee, Shallipopi, Flavour, Nasboi, and Magnito.
