The PDP governorship candidate for Ogun State, Oladipupo Adebutu, was warmly welcomed on Wednesday as thousands of Yewa indigenes from the Ogun West senatorial district came out to support and endorse his gubernatorial aspirations.
As reported, the locals, along with a large group of PDP supporters in Yewa, expressed their support for the PDP candidate.
During the event held at Tetede Hall in Ilaro, Chief Akinbami Lukman, a leader of the Believe Movement from Imeko Afon Local Government, stated that the group’s members chose to back Adebutu’s ambition for the benefit of the Ogun people and the Ogun agenda.
Akinbami, representing the group aligned with the PDP, assured Adebutu and the PDP members present that they had committed to workingfor his success to guarantee that every vote would matter.
Mr. Jimoh Azeez, another leader from the youth group Door to Door Foot-Soldiers, stated that they would support Adebutu’s rise to the governorship.
He stated that Nigerian youths are now more aware and will express themselves boldly through their votes in 2027.
“We won’t claim they will produce the outcomes.” We will organize, cast our votes, and support our choices. Our governing elite must recognize that it is a new beginning.
“They may keep bypassing leaders and traditional authorities.” We are the individuals on the field. They will be surprised. “Azeez stated, ‘We will safeguard Yewa’s opportunity for a genuine local individual without any disputes.’”
Others who commented mentioned that the Adebutu family had contributed significantly to the impoverished communities even without holding public office, stating that if he were to become governor, he would ensure the state’s resources benefited the citizens.
The Awori natives similarly took turns to support Adebutu’s candidacy, stating they had no ties to political parties or district leaders.
They claimed to be backing someone who would uphold the state’s dignity, stating that “the PDP gubernatorial candidate is that individual.”
In his reply, Adebutu expressed his gratitude to the supporters, mentioning that he felt humbled by the affection shown by the genuine indigenes of Yewa land.
He stated that if Gboyega Isiaka, Abiodun Akinlade, or any other candidate represented different political parties opposing the PDP, it would have been challenging, emphasizing that he had backed all genuine Yewa sons when they became candidates for the PDP and Allied People’s Movement.
He promised the locals his dedication to the progress and advancement of the senatorial district.
