Ibadan Chiefs On Tuesday assured residents and indigenes of Oyo state that the reign of the Oba-elect , Chief Lekan Balogun would bring advancement and peace to Ibadan land.
This statement by the chiefs comes just as the state prepares for the coronation of the king.
Speaking with Fresh FM correspondent, Adeola Bankole, the Arole Iba Oluyole, Nureni Adebayo Akanbi described the Oba elect as a man who has garnered vast experience due to his exposure.
“He is well read, educated,exposed and has travelled far and wide.He knows what life means and entails.The vast knowledge and experience of the Oba elect will be useful for the people of Ibadan and the country in the advisory capacity,that is giving the state government and those in position of authority in the country, quality advise for developmental advancement of the nation”.
Also, the Oluwo Afobaje of Ibadanland, Chief Wahab Idowu Popoola urged the State Government to provide adequate security during Friday’s Coronation ceremony.
“Security is paramount in society, therefore I admonish the State Government to provide adequate security at the venue of the Coronation event, as Oja Oba the venue for the coronation is known to be notorious for hoodlums fight and crisis. Adequate security for the event to be a successful one”.
The coronation is scheduled to hold on Friday, 11th March ,2022 at Oja Oba town hall,Oja Oba, Ibadan starting from 10:00am. Dignitaries and traditional rulers are expected to grace the occasion.
