President Bola Tinubu has withdrawn the nomination of Dr Mariam Shetty, a ministerial nominee from Kano State.

The President replaced Mariam Shetty with Maigari Mahmud, also from Kano state.

He also nominated former spokesperson for the Bola Tinubu presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo.

This is contained in a letter sent to the Senate and read by the President of the Senate, Godwill Akpabio on Friday.

President Bola Tinubu had on Wednesday sent an additional list of 19 ministerial nominees to complement the previously sent 28-man nominees earlier sent on August 2.

It was reported on Thursday that the ministerial nomination of Maryam Shetty from Kano State by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday had continued to generate mixed reactions from Nigerians.

The development has therefore brought the second batch of ministerial nominees to 20.

The number of the ministerial nominees so far sent to the red chamber for screening and confirmation now stands at 48.
