Adeleke Finally Moves Into The Government House

Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, moved into the official house, Okefia Government House in Osogbo, around a year and a half after entering office.

After taking office on Sunday, November 27, 2022, Adeleke decided to return to his private home in Ede, a town nearby Osogbo, rather than relocating to the Government House like his forerunners had done.

Even after facing criticism from the opposition All Progressives Congress, Adeleke continued to live in his own home and occasionally handled state business from there.

He clarified that renovations were being done at Government House.

But according to a statement released on Sunday by Olawale Rasheed, his spokesperson, Adeleke had finally moved in and the renovations were finished.

According to Rasheed, the rehabilitation effort included remodeling numerous buildings, refixing numerous abandoned facilities, finishing an abandoned multi-bedroom guest home, and renovating the main residence.

Adeleke said that his administration was dedicated to improving state assets regardless of whether such programs were started or inherited by him during remarks at the reopening of the Government House, which was attended by senior Osun State government officials.

“I rebuilt the Governor’s Office and upgraded the Government House,” he declared. We took steps to save the Government House from the state of blatant disregard that we inherited. As you can all see, our state is now well-positioned in the comity of states, thanks to the renovated facilities.

“I met a deserted guest house that could welcome important dignitaries in place of paying exorbitant fees for lodging elsewhere. Its restoration was requested by me and today it is concluded.

“The previous presidential lounge was in a awful shape which was tackled with Our team.

Because public assets are for future generations as well as present ones, our administration is fervent about updating them. The tenet that “government is a continuum” must be truly applied to our actions. As Osun has just seen, giving up on initiatives or public property is an indicator of poor leadership.

Adeleke stated that in addition to concluding unfinished business, his administration was also starting fresh initiatives. “To the fine people of Osun State, the Government House is now home to your governor. I promise to intensify our efforts to fulfill the agenda’s five points. He stated, “We are genuinely focused on maintaining the provision of excellent governance.

However, in response, Tajudeen Lawal, the chairman of the Osun APC, called the newly renovated Government House an inappropriate priority.

“It is unfortunate that the governor of Osun State was busy celebrating something that cannot positively impact the people of the state, while the counterparts of Governor Adeleke in other states are preoccupied with how to lessen the debilitating effects of the Federal Government removal of fuel subsidy through palliatives,” stated Lawal in a statement.

The Adeleke N1bn rehabilitated Government House, which had already been tastefully renovated by the immediate past governor, Gboyega Oyetola, who is currently Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, does not amuse us or other astute members of the Osun State public. We wish to make this clear to Governor Adeleke and his fellow travelers.
