The Peoples Democratic Party’s national headquarters in Abuja, Wadata Plaza, is under increased protection as armed police officers were stationed prior to the party’s major National Executive Committee meeting today.
The police were dispatched to prevent the planned Expanded Caucus Meeting from happening, according to a party official who spoke to Channels Television on condition of anonymity.
However, some staff members of the party were permitted to go into the premises of the secretariat without any resistance from the police.
The policemen were seen cordoning off Dalaba Street, which is the road leading to Wadata Plaza.
Details later.
