A 45-year-old salesman named Aliu Adeyemo appeared in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Tuesday over an alleged N2,292,000 fraud.
Adeyemo, who worked for Sunking Company on Ring Road in Ibadan, pleaded a not guilty plea to charges of theft and acquiring money under false pretenses.
ASP Olagoke Adegbenro, the prosecutor, informed the court that the defendant committed the offenses at the aforementioned organization between June 2025 and January 2026.
ASP Olagoke Adegbenro claims that the defendant stole the N2,292,000 worth of goods as he he did not pay or return the solar products.
He claimed that the offences contravened provisions of Sections 390(9) and 419 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendant was granted N500,000 bail with two sureties in like sum by the magistrate, Mrs. Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair.
The case was adjourned until March 24 for a hearing after she ruled that both sureties must be the defendant’s blood relatives.
