Ademola, a student at Osun State University, has described how she was attacked after soldiers from the Army Depot in Osogbo broke into the residence halls.

In a video posted, Ademola claimed that the event happened while she was cooking by herself in her room.

She said that although she first saw soldiers in the neighborhood, she thought things had settled down before the officers supposedly came back.

Recall that on Monday night, a few soldiers from the Army Depot in Osogbo broke into Osun State University residential halls, attacked a number of students, and took over sixty cell phones and other electronic devices.

The troops, who were allegedly among those who took part in the passing-out parade at the Army Depot last Saturday, allegedly stripped several female students naked and had them dance without clothing.

“My name is Ademola, a student of Osun State University,” she added, recounting the event. I was cooking in my dorm room when I became aware of the troops’ presence. Everything subsided after a while. Later thereafter, though, we heard sounds once more.

“They asked who was in my room and began pointing their torches at it.” They then asked me to open my door, which I did.

When one of them inquired how many of us were in the room, I replied that there were two of us. I also informed him that my roommate wasn’t present.

Ademola claimed that one of the guards then turned physically hostile as her feelings deceived her.

”He then told me I would like it while pinning me to my bathroom door. He also advised me not to yell. So I pleaded with him.

I had to move to the door and find a way out of his grasp. I told him to get out as he approached the door. He asked if I wanted him to move out,” she said

She further said that another soldier tried to restrain her after entering the room.

“While I was on that, his colleague came in and also told me to calm down, that I would love it, and that I shouldn’t shout,” she recounted.

I yelled and screamed as soon as they began to move. They both left after yelling, and I had to force the door shut.

The student claims that after hearing the disturbance, one of her roommates came to see how she was doing.

“One of my hostel mates came to knock on my door to check up on me after I closed the door, and he left,” she added.

Following the event, the National Association of Nigerian Students, Southwest Zone D, filed a complaint, and the Depot Nigerian Army, Osogbo, said on Tuesday that it had started an inquiry into claims of misbehavior by some of its soldiers.

The army promised that anyone found guilty would face justice and stated that the investigation’s goal was to determine the incident’s facts.
