The Police Command in Adamawa State has retrieved a stolen Toyota Hilux and apprehended two individuals linked to a criminal conspiracy and possession of stolen goods.
This was revealed in a statement released on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje.
Nguroje revealed that the individuals taken into custody are Mustapha Suleiman from Wuro Hausa and Rabiu Garba, aged 38, from Jambutu, in Yola North Local Government Area.
“The duo was apprehended after a report from Aliyu Usman. The buyer found out that the Toyota Hilux he bought for N7.5m was listed as stolen.
Initial inquiries showed that the automobile was taken from Rivers State in June 2026 and moved to Adamawa State by a suspect named Mati, who is presently evading capture.
The suspect on the run reportedly collaborated with the two individuals who were arrested and sold the vehicle to the complainant.
After realizing the car was stolen, Aliyu Usman immediately informed the police about the situation. Responding to the report, command operatives apprehended the two suspects, recovered the Toyota Hilux, and located the rightful owner, ” he said.
The Police Commissioner, Kabiru Hassan, praised the complainant for his integrity and encouraged the public to consistently confirm the ownership and documentation of vehicles prior to buying them.
He further instructed his team to intensify their efforts to guarantee that the escaping suspect is captured and that all individuals associated with the crime are held accountable.
He remarked, “Investigations are in progress, after which the suspects will be prosecuted in court as appropriate.”
Remember that on July 8, the Oyo State Police Command apprehended two individuals suspected of armed robbery and seized a gun purportedly used in a robbery incident on the Oyo-Iwo Expressway in the Afijio Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s representative, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, revealed that the event took place during the early hours of Sunday, July 5, 2026, after the Police Control Room at Eleyele got a distress call indicating that armed robbers had obstructed the highway near Akoda Village in Afijio Local Government Area.
