Dr. Salami Etudaiye has been named Director-General of the Peoples Democratic Party’s 2027 campaign organization in Kogi Central Senatorial District. Abubakar Karaku has been named Campaign Chairman.
As the party began preparing for the 2027 general elections, the two were introduced on Monday during a campaign organization stakeholders’ meeting led by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Mike Idoko, Akpoti-Uduaghan’s media assistant, provided journalists with a statement on Monday nite that revealed the development.
In order to secure victory for all PDP candidates in the senatorial district, the newly formed campaign team was tasked with implementing an aggressive grassroots mobilization strategy.
Jacob Anebe, Secretary; Ilyasu Zubair, Head of Operations; Isiaka Uhuanaye, Head of Technicals; and Jane Onoba, Head of Welfare, are additional members of the campaign organization.
Speaking at the inauguration, Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasized that the party’s campaign must be solidly entrenched in the grassroots and urged the campaign staff to work hard toward the success of all PDP candidates in Kogi Central.
According to her, the campaign should prioritize direct interaction with people thru ongoing mobilization, going beyond traditional rallies.
“This campaign must be house-to-house and polling unit-by-polling unit,” she declared. We need to speak with our people face-to-face, listen to them, interact with them, and make it abundantly evident why the PDP is still the greatest platform for their advancement.
Regardless of prior political disagreements, the senator also urged the campaign organization to welcome anyone eager to help the party succeed.
“We must welcome everyone who wishes to be a part of this winning squad and this moving train. Everyone who supports the PDP and the future we are creating for Kogi Central has space,” she said.
In order to ensure that every ward and polling place was sufficiently covered, Akpoti-Uduaghan also advised the campaigners to exhibit discipline, togetherness, and dedication.
She emphasized that party officials, women, young people, ward executives, campaign coordinators, volunteers, and other stakeholders would need to work together to win the election.
Etudaiye called his appointment a sacred duty in his acceptance speech, promising to use his organizational skills, expertise, and enthusiasm to help the PDP win.
“I stand before you today with a spirit on fire and a heart full of gratitude,” he declared. I humbly and resolutely accept the holy responsibility you have given me as our campaign’s director-general.
According to Etudaiye, his appointment was a directive to establish a strong political framework throughout the senatorial district rather than only a ceremonial one.
“This title is not ceremonial. This is an appeal to fight. I declined the task of overseeing a campaign of quiet meetings and courteous handshakes. I agreed to organize a movement.
He stated that the campaign would target every area in Kogi Central, including the local governments of Okene, Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okehi, and Ogori-Mangongo, with a special emphasis on wards, polling places, streets, marketplaces, campuses, and homes.
“We won’t enter this election as beggars. We’re going to win, and we’re going to win decisively.
Stressing that organization, mobilization, unity, and discipline would be necessary for victory, the campaign director urged PDP members to unite behind the cause.
Additionally, he called on women and young people to participate actively in the campaign, characterizing women as the party’s core and young people as essential to contemporary political mobilization.
Etudaiye promised to steer the campaign with competence and transparency while keeping success as his top priority.
“I promise to lead this organization with competence, openness, and an unwavering commitment to success. I’ll pay attention. I’ll organize. I’ll battle for each and every vote.
“This is not just a campaign,” he said in closing. For Kogi Central, this is a revolution of hope. I agree to this fee. I accept this responsibility. And we will triumph by the grace of God and the combined will of our people.
Speaking as well, Karaku urged PDP stakeholders to put the party’s and the people’s interests ahead of their own. He also congratulated members of the recently established campaign organization.
He urged harmony, nonviolent political participation, and constructive campaigning while cautioning against resentment, insults, and divisive language.
“Everyone in our wonderful party should unite at this time. We need to set aside whatever disagreements we may have and focus on the bigger goal of strengthening the PDP and ensuring our candidates win,” he said.
Karaku urged party members to take the campaign to the local level and inform voters about the party’s goals, accomplishments, programs, and facts.
“We must have a positive message, act responsibly, and mobilize strategically. Thru our initiatives, dedication, and grassroots presence, we must persuade the populace. Organization, cohesion, and the capacity to engage the populace are the keys to winning elections.
Additionally, he urged volunteers, women’s and youth leaders, polling-unit coordinators, ward leaders, and other campaign workers to collaborate as a team.
“Nobody should think of themselves as too important to work with another person,” he stated. Every voting place, every ward, and every vote counts. We can win if we stay focused, disciplined, and united.
