Adeola “Diiadem” Adeyemi and Dabota Lawson, stars of The Real Housewives of Lagos, were once close friends. However, their friendship has turned into a public social media fallout, with both ladies making accusations about money, business prospects, bloggers, and their past connection.
After meeting in the beauty industry, Diiadem and Dabota—both beauty entrepreneurs—became close and went on to participate together as cast members on the third season of The Real Housewives of Lagos. For the third season, both were added to the cast.
In the past, their friendship had been widely acknowledged; they frequently appeared together and helped each other’s enterprises.
But earlier this week, it was reported that the two had broken up and were no longer following one another on social media. Although neither woman initially publicly acknowledged that as the cause of their argument, some accounts linked the breakdown to purported envy.
After Diiadem addressed what she called online “hate” and “smear campaigns” against her on Snapchat on Thursday, the situation worsened.
Diiadem accused Dabota of participating in the dissemination of information on her via bloggers in a number of posts.
She also mentioned a ₦5 million transfer that was previously linked to Dabota’s birthday gift to her, saying that she was later asked to refund the funds.
“Anyone remember this alert I posted hyping Dabota?” Diiadem wrote. I was informed that it was a “girls game” and had to be returned as soon as it was uploaded. which I did right away.
Additionally, she claimed that Dabota had given bloggers access to her information.
“Leave me alone, Dabota Lawson, and stop talking about me.”
Diiadem further claimed that if Dabota had a falling out with someone, she would usually include bloggers.
“It seems like your first instinct is to use bloggers to tear them down every time you fall out with someone.”
She claimed that once her daughter’s picture surfaced on a blog, the situation got especially distressing.
“When I saw my daughter’s face on that dirty blog, I felt like a failed parent,” she remarked.
Diiadem stated at the end of her message that she wished to avoid any more turmoil.
“I won’t be taken advantage of, coerced, or pulled into needless drama. Please move on from me and stop bothering me. All I want is to survive,” Diiadem stated.
In response to Diiadem’s posts, Dabota asked her to specify exactly what she thot she had done to trigger the fallout.
She claimed that once she obtained funds from a finance firm that Diiadem had also contacted, their relationship deteriorated.
“Aside from renovating and rebranding my store and business, launching a new innovation that I personally showed you when the first samples arrived, and securing a funding opportunity that you also applied for but did not follow thru with the necessary process, I genuinely cannot identify what I have done to you.”
She continued.
Dabota also disregarded certain of Diiadem’s assertions on disagreements pertaining to bloggers.
Speaking about Sophia Momodu, she claimed that during The Real Housewives of Lagos, she had confronted her about their disagreement.
Speaking of Sophia, the boat was rented, as I’ve already mentioned. I didn’t hold back when I spoke to her face on national television, whether it was published on a blog or not. Since then, we’ve moved past that circumstance,” Diiadem stated.
She then demanded that Diiadem provide proof of the accusations made against her.
Speaking of the blogger, Dabota declared, “I dare you to publish the evidence supporting every allegation you have made.”
Their conflict extended to their financial transactions as well.
Diiadem stated that she was unable to make a transfer at the time, therefore she borrowed ₦1 million from Dabota during a meeting.
She claimed that she later gave back the money plus an extra sum.
Indeed, I borrowed ₦1 million from you since I was unable to complete a transfer when we were in a meeting. “I sent you ₦1.5 million when I paid you back, and I even added extra so you could buy gifts for your daughter,” she stated.
Dabota’s account of the money she supposedly sprayed at her party was also questioned by Diiadem, who said that there was a dispute about what happened to the money thereafter.
Later, Diiadem came back to Snapchat with another message, disputing Dabota’s version of their argument and discussing a project incorporating Jarvis and a $10,000 funding opportunity.
Regarding the Jarvis matter, Diiadem said that Dabota had desired to take part in the project but was disappointed when she was not invited.
You really wanted to be a part of it, Jarvis. You were furious when I didn’t invite you.
She claimed that Dabota had also mentioned the exposure another artist had received as a result of the initiative and implied that she and her daughter would gain from a comparable chance.
Diiadem also brought up Dabota’s remarks regarding a past relationship, although the dispute could be understood without revealing the more intimate facts in her response.
Both ladies allude to a number of unresolved concerns pertaining to friendship, business, money, and public opinion in the most recent interaction, suggesting that the conflict extends beyond a single occurrence.
Dabota has pushed Diiadem to explicitly state what she feels she did incorrectly, while Diiadem has insisted that she wants Dabota to stop talking about her in public.
