Ronke Ojo, also known as Ronke Oshodi-Oke, is a Nollywood actress who has stated that she supports politicians for financial gain. She has asked people to refrain from insulting or criticizing her if they see her in the company of political officials.
In an interview with African A-List that was posted on YouTube on Sunday, the actress revealed this when discussing Nigerian politics and whether or not she would take money to promote or endorse a politician.
Oshodi-Oke emphasized that she was not advising people on who to vote for and stated that she did not want to talk about Nigerian politics, which she called “dirty.”
“I don’t want to discuss Nigerian politics because they are filthy.” I therefore don’t want to discuss it. She said, “I’m not saying you shouldn’t vote for whoever you want to.”
When asked if she would take money to support or endorse a candidate, the actress responded that people should realize that she would be doing so in order to support herself.
“If you see me standing behind any politician, just assume that she is trying to find a way to put food on the table.” Simply walk away and let her eat. “Don’t drag me or insult me,” she said.
The actress also discussed her relationship with fellow actress Sotayo Gaga, disclosing that they hadn’t communicated in a while.
Oshodi-Oke stated that they had a disagreement but were not at war, and that Sotayo later sent her N150,000 after learning of her illness.
It had been a while since we had spoken. We had a minor argument, not that we were at war. We haven’t spoken in five or six years. However, she sent me N150,000 after learning that I was ill. We haven’t spoken since. We don’t even say hello to each other when we cross paths at a party,” she remarked.
The actress also discussed her work in the Nigerian film industry, parenthood, marital difficulties, and health issues.
Oshodi-Oke thought back on the challenging time of her sickness and how it affected her perspective on relationships and life.
She also talked about how, in the midst of her health issues, she decided to become a member of the Celestial Church of Christ, emphasizing that she did not judge others who practiced other religions.
The actress went on to discuss her experience in Nollywood and the difficulties she faced juggling her personal, professional, and family lives.
