A 40-foot truck carrying containers failed its brakes and crashed into demarcation barriers and other cars, at the exit of the Kara Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency revealed the event in a post on its X handle on Tuesday, asking drivers to be patient while attempts were made to remove the obstruction.
While recovery and evacuation activities have started, the agency reported that the crash has resulted in a traffic bottleneck that extends to New Garage.
According to the agency, another collision involving a loaded trailer and a Sports Utility Vehicle was also reported on the Kara Bridge inward Mowe.
In order to control the situation and make it easier for the impacted vehicles to be cleared, it also stated that officers and police officials had been sent to the location.
According to the agency, “officers and police personnel are on the ground doing the necessary.”
The organization urged drivers to be patient while reassuring them that attempts were being made to restore regular traffic flow.
“As all hands are on deck to ensure that all impediments are cleared off the road, we implore motorists to be patient,” the statement read.
