Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku, says the recently concluded 50th anniversary of the state’s creation was all-inclusive, impactful and historic.
In a post-anniversary statement as chairman of the event’s Media Committee, Ajanaku praised the charismatic, people-centered and leadership qualities of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, saying it was reflected through the all-inclusive golden jubilee celebration.
According to him, the respect and recognition shown to Ondo State’s past leaders, living and dead, through the conferment of lifetime achievement awards, reflected the governor’s impeccable character as a man of integrity.
Ajanaku also described the anniversary as impactful and historic, particularly young adults and families who benefited from the essay competitions, winning land and cash prizes that he said would positively transform their lives.
He said the government has made significant progress in repositioning Ondo State from a civil-service-dominated state to an industrialized one, with several major projects in the pipeline for execution.
The commissioner listed the projects to include the Olokola Free Trade Zone, Deep Sea Port whose license was recently revalidated by the Federal Government as well as a refinery.
He noted that the projects would provide a development template for the new Ondo over the next 50 years, while significantly boosting the state’s economy.
He also thanked God for a hitch-free anniversary celebration and expressed appreciation to the governor for the confidence reposed in the anniversary planning committee and for his support.
The commissioner further commended members of the committee, led by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, for their cooperation and teamwork in ensuring the successful execution of activities lined up for the anniversary.
