Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, has been discharged of his duties by Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State.
This was revealed in a brief statement sent to journalists early on Monday and signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado.
Galadima was fired with immediate effect after the governor authorized a slight reorganization of the State Executive Council’s composition, the statement said.
“His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, has approved a minor change in the composition of his cabinet,” the statement read.
“In that respect, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, has been relieved of his appointment as a member of the State Executive Council with immediate effect.”
According to Gidado, the decision was consistent with the administration’s intention to restructure the executive for better service delivery, strengthen governance, bring in new ideas, and guarantee that government policies and programs are implemented effectively throughout the state.
Governor Mohammed thanked Galadima for his contributions to the state during his tenure and wished him success in his future endeavors.
He also reassured residents of Bauchi State of his administration’s continued commitment to peace, security and good governance.
The governor’s media aide added that a replacement for the sacked commissioner would be announced in due course.
