Buhari should not contest in the 2019 election, says Anglican cleric

The Bishop of the Diocese of Ondo, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Stephen Oni, has said the country required a youthful and visionary individual to wind up the following President of the nation and encouraged President Muhammadu Buhari to drop his re-decision offer in 2019.

He deplored that a few government officials in Nigeria had outstayed their opportunity in office and declined to leave the political workplaces for the more youthful age, distinguishing the pattern as one of the issues the nation was confronting.

Priest Oni expressed this at the request of administration for the inauguration and establishment of another chancellor and different authorities of the Cathedral Church of St Stephen, Oke-Aluko, Ondo, Ondo State.

At the service, a Federal High Court judge, Justice Obayomi Taiwo, was contributed as the Chancellor; Mr Ayodele Akintunde (SAN), as the Deputy Chancellor; while Mrs Yejide Ogundipe and Mr Olu Adenodi were reappointed as enlistment center and agent recorder individually.

In his charge, titled, ‘Obligation, not title,’ the priest mourned the reusing of old lawmakers in control at all levels of government in the nation, saying legislators go to any length to propagate themselves in control.

He stated, “They need to kick the bucket in office. No big surprise, individuals have tossed alert into the air, we could see exemption all over the place. Commendable heritage isn’t there, we are just reusing rust brains, they will return again with their photos when they give you N1,000 with the prominent serenade to ‘vote and cook soup’. ”
