Chelsea have recalled forward David Fofana from his loan spell as both the club and player’s camp prepare for a potential permanent transfer in the coming days or weeks.
The 21-year-old Ivorian, who joined the Blues from Norwegian side Molde in January 2023 and has spent time out on loan to gain first-team experience. Details of the potential move, including the destination club, are yet to be confirmed.
According to Fabrizio Romano’s X post on Monday, “Chelsea recall David Datro Fofana from loan as he’s set for a new move in the upcoming days/weeks. Chelsea and Fofana’s camp are working on a permanent exit.”
Fofana’s recall indicates that the Blues are keen to manage the next stage of his career directly and ensure a smooth transition to a club where he can continue his development.
Fofana has not yet made a significant mark in Chelsea’s first team since arriving at Stamford Bridge. The club has prioritised his growth through loan moves to ensure he gains regular playing time and experience at a senior level.
