Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has denied reports claiming he dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress for the opposition coalition, African Democratic Congress.
In a statement on Sunday, Mustapha described the reports as fake news, insisting that he has not engaged in any discussions with members of the opposition or their coalition partners.
“My attention has been drawn to a news story in circulation associating me with the opposition alliance and their choice of the ADC as their political party.
“I want the general public to know that this is fake news. I am not in any opposition alliance, and I am not in any discussion with those who are involved,” the statement read in parts.
Mustapha stated that he remains a founding father of the APC and could not abandon a party he played a key role in establishing.
The former SGF acknowledged that, like any political organization, the APC faces challenges but stressed that the way forward is to address those issues from within rather than defect to another platform.
He urged the public to ignore any speculation implying the contrary.
