The Samlove Hotel in Okitipupa, Ondo State’s Okitipupa Local Government Area, was destroyed by fire, destroying millions of naira’s worth of property.
The incident was confirmed on Thursday by DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command.
Ayanlade told News Agency of Nigeria that no life was lost in the fire incident that lasted for hours.
He revealed that, the police have commenced an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the fire incident.”
According to a hotel employee who spoke to NAN, the electrical spark-caused fire began at around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and spread across the hotel bar.
The staff who pleaded anonymity, stated that the fire did not affect the hotel’s main building.
“We thank God that no life was lost in the fire incident as guests in the hotel help to put out the fire from spreading to other parts of the hotel,” she said.
Recall that Caring Heart Market in Okitipupa was recently destroyed by fire, destroying products valued at millions of naira.
