Alhaji Abdullahi Musa, the State Head of Service, has been dismissed of his appointment with immediate effect by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor’s spokesperson, made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday evening.
The statement further instructed the outgoing Head of Service to hand over the affairs of the office to the acting Head of Service no later than Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
The measure is part of the administration’s continuous efforts to reposition the state civil service for greater efficiency, discipline, and better service delivery across government institutions, according to the statement.
Governor Yusuf, however, expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions and dedication to the service of the state during his tenure.
“We wish him the best in his future endeavors and pray for his continued success in all aspects of life,” the governor stated.
Additionally, the governor ordered Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Cabinet Office’s Permanent Secretary, Administration and General Services, to act as Head of Service pending the appointment of a substantive occupant of the office.
The statement further instructed the outgoing Head of Service to hand over the affairs of the office to the acting Head of Service no later than Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
