The Niger State Correctional Centre Minna, ACC Abdulrahman Ibrahim Gelele, Assistant Controller of Corrections, has been abducted by gunmen.
ACC Abdulrahman Ibrahim Gelele has been abducted since April 17, 2024, according to a press release that the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSC Rabiu Mohammed Shuaibu (CPRO), made available to journalists late on Thursday night in Minna.
The officer was kidnapped while returning from vacation in Ilorin along the Ilorin-Minna road, according to CPRO Shuiabu.
The incident was kept under wraps in the hope that he would soon regain freedom, but after more than a week, it has become a topic of conversation at the Center’s headquarters.
According to the statement, the kidnappers spoke with the victim’s relatives only once before cutting off all contact with both the family and his office.
The message went on to say that Mohammed Hamisu Isa fdc, the Controller of Corrections for the Nigerian Correctional Service in Niger State, pleaded that you solicit for his safe release and freedom from the captors on behalf of the officers and men of the command.
