The governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris has denied reports that he and four other governors are preparing to defect from the All-Progressives Congress.
In a press statement on Sunday, the governor described the rumour as “ridiculously malicious” and the handiwork of “uninteresting political comedians.”
Reacting to the social media speculation linking him to a coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Idris reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, declaring that he is “made in APC, by APC, and for APC.”
“For the avoidance of doubt, I am not a political prostitute. I will be the last person to leave my formidable and reliable party for any coalition, no matter who the architects are,” the governor stated.
Idris, also known as Kauran Gwandu, highlighted his dedication to the people of Kebbi State and President Bola Tinubu’s vision, stating that his priorities continue to be establishing good governance and consolidating on the APC’s achievements.
“If they tell you again that Kaura is likely to leave his APC, tell them I will be the last man standing,” he declared.
The statement, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, stressed that Kebbi State remains a stronghold of the APC and dismissed any notion of disloyalty as a “dance of mad fellows in the marketplace.”
In closing, Idris reassured the people of Kebbi that he was committed to their well-being and the continued growth under the APC banner.
