Brgd. Gen. Maharazu Tsiga (retd.), the former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, was allegedly abducted by bandits in the early hours of Thursday in Tsiga village, Bakori Local Government Area, Katsina State.
The bandits also killed one person and kidnapped at least nine others, even as they were alleged to have looted many residences, carrying away valuables.
According to eyewitness accounts, the armed thugs stormed the village at 12.30 am on Thursday, shooting intermittently to frighten the locals.
When DSP Abubakar Sadiq was contacted, the public relations officer for the Katsina State Police, to confirm the attack, he replied that he “can’t talk now.”
