The renaming of The Polytechnic in Ibadan, Oyo State to Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic has prompted a protest by students.
There are hundreds of commuters stuck on Ibadan’s Sango-Eleyele Road as a result of the protest.
According to reports, the school was renamed by the States governor, Seyi Makinde in commemoration of the late Omololu Olunloyo, the state’s former governor who passed away at the age of 89.
Olunloyo was the first Ibadan person to serve as the governor of old Oyo State.
According to findings, the students blocked Sango-Eleyele Road and the institution’s entrance gates.
