Sen. David Mark, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), congratulated Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president, on his 89th birthday.
Paul Mumeh, his media adviser, made this announcement in Kano on Thursday.
According to Mark, the former Nigerian leader was a statesman of remarkable courage, discipline and enduring commitment to the unity, stability and progress of Nigeria.
He said that Obasanjo’s decades of service to the nation, both in military and civilian leadership, left a lasting impact on Nigeria’s political history and democratic development.
“ Obasanjo remains one of the most prominent figures in Nigeria’s national journey. His dedication to nation-building, democratic governance and the pursuit of peace and stability in Africa continues to inspire generations of leaders,” Mark stated.
He added that the elder statesman’s extensive expertise , forthright counsel and consistent advocacy for good governance have continued to shape national discourse and strengthen democratic institutions.
Mark noted that Nigeria and the African continent still greatly benefit from the former president’s leadership expertise and statesmanship and prayed for God’s continuing grace, health, and wisdom for the former president.
“On behalf of the leadership and members of the African Democratic Congress, I congratulate Obasanjo on this remarkable milestone and wish him many more years of sound health, strength and service to humanity,” he said.
