A 25-year-old woman was apprehended and arrested by Lagos State Police Command officers for reportedly transferring N3 million belonging to a company into her account.
On Tuesday in Lagos, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s public relations officer, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria.
Hundeyin reported that the suspect (name withheld) and her other co-workers, in a catering firm, plotted and diverted money realised from the sale of the company’s products into their personal accounts.
He said that the suspects only returned a part of the money to the company’s account.
Hundeyin stated, “Over N3 million has so far been traced to the detained suspect’s account.
“She is in detention under a remand warrant. An investigation is ongoing.”
