Residents of Igando/Ikotun Local Council Development Area of Lagos State have been urged to get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) ahead of the 2023 elections.
Council Chairman Lasisi Akinsanya spoke at the inauguration of Southwest Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA’23) executives in Igando/Ikotun.
He said the 57 councils got their lifeline via Tinubu’s dexterous approach to administration, adding that Tinubu’s presidential aspiration must be accorded regard because
‘this is payback time for all the good he has orchestrated in Lagos’.
“SWAGA’23 is not a child’s play …we will support you with everything we have.
“I have benefited as a civil servant and now as a politician. But for Asiwaju’s idea of increasing the councils from 20 to 57, I won’t have been opportuned to be a Clerk of
the House here or become the council boss now. For me, this is payback time for all the good things he has done in time past, Akinsanya said.
He said: “I must commend Igando/Ikotun LCDA for an unprecedented reception accorded SWAGA’23. We have been to other councils but your reception is superb.
“To the inaugurated members of SWAGA’23, you have been chosen to work and bring in as many as are ready to work for the actualisation of Asiwaju’s ambition, not minding their
political leanings or non-partisan status. SWAGA is for all progressives and democrats that support Asiwaju’s aspiration.
“Our votes must count and without PVC we can’t vote, so it is time to intensify efforts to attain this set goal. You should ensure the people get their PVCs.”
