Singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has regained his freedom after spending about a week in police custody and appearing in Court in Ogun State, where he announced a new name, “Innocenty.”
In a video circulating online, Portable was seen surrounded by associates who welcomed him following his release from custody.
Portable, in good spirits, told those present that he had adopted the new name “Innocenty.”
Portable’s manager, Baby Luv, also posted a photo on Instagram showing the singer with his first wife, Bewaji.
The post highlighted her appreciation for Bewaji’s support of the singer during his legal challenges.
She wrote, “All glory to God. Grace spoke, mercy prevailed. #Freedom. She stayed when it was hardest. God honored her faith #Thankful.”
Meanwhile, Portable was arraigned on January 12 before a court in Ota, Ogun State, facing multiple charges, including assault, theft, and resisting arrest.
He was also accused of stealing a Mercedes-Benz E300 worth N12 million. Bail was not granted at the hearing, reportedly due to the absence of the police officer handling the case.
