Model and actor Tobi Bakre has emphasized the need of hard work, professionalism, and consistency as the cornerstones of success in the entertainment sector.
The 2018 Big Brother Naija star urged young actors to treat every work, no matter how minor, with the utmost seriousness in an interview with the Menisms Podcast.
“To our colleagues out there, to our younger ones… it doesn’t matter what you are doing, just do it well,” he said.
Bakre underlined that upholding high standards in small tasks frequently leads to life-changing possibilities, pointing out that one’s work ethic functions as a continuous audition.
“Just do it well; it doesn’t matter what you are doing. You have no idea who is observing. He said, “You know, God has sent people several times, and you didn’t show them anything, so please show something.” He added that many people lose out on development because they are unable to prove their worth when given the opportunity.
The 31-year-old actor gave an example of how he would assign major corporate tasks to someone in a little position, like a car washer, if they demonstrated extraordinary dedication and seriousness.
“There are opportunities I will give to someone who I know washes cars, but I see the diligence, the seriousness, and the commitment in how they do what they do. I could put them in charge of a company once I see just how they’re handling that little thing,” he said.
Bakre became a Nollywood powerhouse after being well-known as a Big Brother Naija Season 3 finalist. In 2025, he earned over N1.4 billion at the box office, becoming him the highest-grossing actor in the industry.
He starred in the television series Slum King, Gangs of Lagos, and Brotherhood, for which he was awarded the AMVCA Best Actor in a Drama award.
