Tribunal withdraws case against Goje

The tribunal chairman of Gombe state National Assembly Election Justice Raphael Ajuwa has granted the prayers of the litigants for File EPT/GM/01/SEN/2019

He said, “going by the date for election petition and having heard the pleas of lawyers of the litigants, this panel will grant the motion for the withdrawal of this petition” he stated.

Mohammed Babangida and A.M Inuwa, lawyers to the petitioners cited 3 grounds for withdrawal; That the petitioners file this petition on grounds as stated in the petition.

That the petitioner was summoned to a family meeting in which his uncles pressurized him to withdraw this petition and focus on his business and That the petitioner heed to this advise hence this application to withdraw; The petitioners are People Redemption Party and Lamido Umaru Chikaire Against Danjuma Goje, All Progressives Congress and Independent National Electoral Commission.

Haruna Luka, Lawyer to the respondents in an interview with the media said
“The case was vague. This has once again cemented the victory of Danjuma Goje, who got overwhelming votes” he added.

Danjuma Goje was declared winner for Gombe Central National Assembly election he polled 110,116 to defeat Lamido Umaru Chikaire who garnered 8,397 to come distant 3rd.
