A man and a woman lost their lives when a motorcycle crashed into a Dongfeng pickup truck at Koto Ajala, heading towards Owode, in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State on Monday.
Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, affirmed this in a statement on Tuesday morning.
Akinbiyi stated that the crash resulted from the motorcyclist’s excessive speed and loss of control.
He mentioned that an eyewitness reported the motorcycle rider lost control while going down Koto Ajala towards Owode and crashed into the approaching Dongfeng pickup.
He mentioned that both riders of the motorcycle were killed in the accident.
He mentioned, “The motorcycle, registered as FFF 689 HA, crashed into the Dongfeng pickup with the registration number GGE 200 KP.
“The accident resulted in the deaths of both people on the motorcycle, and no other injuries were reported.”
“Officials from the FRSC transported the bodies to the morgue at Fakoya Hospital in Sagamu.”
Akinbiyi mentioned that the injured motorcycle and the pickup were brought to the local police station for additional investigation.
“Traffic experienced some disruption right after the accident, but normal conditions have been reestablished on the road due to the management efforts by TRACE and FRSC personnel,” he finished.
