The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the death of CNimrod Anaka, the Divisional Police Officer in-charge of Kajola Police Station in Odigbo Local Government Area.
The command’s spokesman, Ayanlade Olushola, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday but declined to provide further details about the officer or the circumstances surrounding his death.
“I can confirm that the DPO (Anaka) has died, but it’s only medical expert that can confirm what caused his death.
“His age and indigene will be made known to the public later,” Ayanlade said.
The DPO, who was said to have developed a sudden illness, died on his way to a hospital for medical attention on Tuesday.
According to NAN, news of his passing threw the officers attached to the station into mourning.
A source revealed that the body of the DPO had been deposited at a mortuary.
