The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has praised President Bola Tinubu for appointing Ayo Omidiran as Chairman of the Federal Character Commission.
He also expressed appreciation to the President for the appointment of Mr Eludayo Eluyemi as Federal Commissioner representing Osun at the FCC.
A statement from the Ooni’s Palace on Wednesday in Ile-Ife described the appointment as a testament to their competence, dedication and years of selfless service to the nation.
The Monarch expressed confidence that the duo would leverage their wealth of experience, integrity, and commitment to national unity in fulfilling the commission’s mandate of promoting fairness, equity and inclusivity in public service structure.
“Omidiran’s track record of legislative service and grassroots development, coupled with Eluyemi’s dedication to public administration, leaves no doubt that they will uphold the principles of fairness and national cohesion that the commission represents,” Ooni noted.
He urged the appointees to view their roles not only as a call to serve the people of the state, but as a sacred duty to the entire nation.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Omidiran, a former member of the House of Representatives, hails from Ikire in Irewole Local Government Area of Osun.
