Members of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, have eliminated 44 suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP militants during various offensive actions throughout Borno State.
The actions also resulted in numerous terrorists being wounded, along with the destruction of their vehicles, motorcycles, and materials for improvised explosive devices.
Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer at Headquarters Joint Task Force North-East for Operation Hadin Kai, made this known in a press statement on Thursday morning.
Goni stated, “OPHK forces have maintained their assault on terrorist groups through synchronized intelligence-driven operations throughout the area.”
He stated that on October 26, 2026, troops confronted alleged terrorists at different sites within Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State, based on intelligence information and surveillance insights.
“Assessment of battle damage revealed that 28 terrorists were eliminated, while six others were reportedly injured,” he stated.
Goni also mentioned that on October 28, 2026, the Maritime Component at Naval Base Lake Chad, stationed in Baga, carried out offensive actions against terrorist objectives in the Lake Chad region.
“Initial evaluations suggested that eight terrorists were eliminated, whereas 10 others were said to have sustained different levels of injuries,” he mentioned.
He mentioned that a separate air interdiction mission interrupted a suspected terrorist operation for laying improvised explosive devices (IEDs), eliminating eight operatives and destroying their vehicle, motorcycles, and IED components.
“The operation halted the terrorist group from carrying out its intended actions.”
Goni explained that these achievements demonstrate the ongoing pressure applied to terrorist networks via intelligence-driven collaborative efforts.
He observed that OPHK continued to focus on diminishing terrorist capabilities, limiting their operational freedom, and safeguarding communities throughout the North-East.
The Theatre Command called on the public to keep supplying reliable information to security agencies to aid ongoing efforts to achieve lasting peace and security throughout the theatre.
