Prior to President Tinubu’s visit, the government has deployed 500 more Lagos State Traffic Management Authority employees to key highways and project corridors.
During a news conference on event preparations on Monday, Omotoso revealed this. He explained that the action was taken to guarantee efficient traffic flow, improved security, and less disturbance to locals.
He clarified that in order to ensure smooth mobility and efficient logistics throughout the visit, the deployment was a component of coordinated plans combining federal and state entities.
“To make sure that everything is smooth, safe, and appropriate for the President’s visit, we are collaborating closely with federal and state agencies.
Security, logistics, and traffic management plans are being carefully coordinated to minimise disruptions to daily activities while ensuring the safety and comfort of all participants,” he said.
Olalekan Bakare-Oki, General Manager of LASTMA, also affirmed that the organization had finalised arrangements to place the extra officers throughout important roads and major highways connected to the President’s schedule.
He said that during the visit, the cops will control traffic flow and ease congestion along the impacted areas.
He pointed out that the deployment was a component of a larger inter-agency traffic management architecture intended to minimise commuter hardship and guarantee the commissioning ceremonies run smoothly.
Abisola Olusanya, Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems; Adekunle Olayinka and Femi Daramola, Special Advisers on Works and Infrastructure; and Gboyega Akosile, Special Advisor to the Governor on Media and Publicity, were also present at the briefing.
