The All Progressives Congress advocated for greater inclusion and assistance for people with disabilities throughout Nigeria, as it gave food and cash to hundreds of recipients in Abuja.
The aid was given to the recipients, who were selected from a variety of handicap clusters in the Federal Capital Territory and neighboring communities, on Tuesday at a function at the APC National Secretariat.
Tolu Bankole, the APC National Leader of Persons with Disabilities, stated in a statement on Wednesday that the initiative’s goals were to protect vulnerable sections of society and encourage increased PWD engagement in political and national development.
Jibrin Bancir, the principal private secretary of APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, welcomed the recipients and reiterated the party’s dedication to disability inclusion.
Bancir stated, “I’m standing here on behalf of the National Chairman to thank you and welcome you to the APC National Secretariat.”
He stated that the party was committed to making sure that its policies and programs benefited people with disabilities.
“The APC National Leader of People with Disabilities, Aare Hon. The National Chairman is supporting Tolu Bankole so that more PWDs can recognize the advantages of joining the APC. You are aware of what our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is doing to further the interests of our nation since you are a member of this party.
He said, “I want all of you to stay firm and believe in what APC is doing as a country and to all of you.”
Speaking as well, Bankole expressed gratitude to the APC leadership for their support of programs aimed at people with disabilities and called for increased cooperation to improve their welfare across the country.
Together, we are more powerful. I am grateful for the National Chairman’s love and dedication to PWDs around the country. According to Bankole, he has demonstrated leadership and camaraderie.
He went on to say that the distribution activity was a component of larger initiatives to give people with disabilities opportunities and respite.
At the National Secretariat, we are still providing PWDs with financial and food assistance today. We are grateful to our trustworthy National Chairman for his leadership, encouragement, and support. Together, we are stronger,” he declared.
According to the statement, beneficiaries from various disability groups, such as the communities of people with hearing and vision impairments, expressed gratitude for the intervention and described it as timely support in the face of ongoing economic difficulties.
It further stated that the occasion provided a forum for promoting more participation of people with disabilities in public life, business, and governance.
The party called on government agencies, businesses, and development partners to step up efforts to remove obstacles that restrict PWDs’ prospects and to fund initiatives that encourage their social inclusion and empowerment.
Additionally, it affirmed that the Renewed Hope Agenda continues to prioritize the welfare of people with disabilities and urged all stakeholders to collaborate in order to create a more inclusive society in which all citizens, regardless of their physical capabilities, can make significant contributions to the advancement of the country.
