Aliyu Mohammed, a leader of the All Progressives Congress in Gombe State, has expressed his backing for the party’s 2027 gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Jamilu Gwamna, while emphasizing that Governor Muhammadu Yahaya’s successes have positioned the APC favorably in preparation for the elections.
It was stated that Mohammed, referred to as Kombat, is the creator of the Velocity Humanitarian Foundation and is the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Velocity Nigeria Limited.
He provided his full backing at a meeting with his supporters in Gombe, where he officially merged his political organization into Gwamna’s campaign.
He mentioned that the choice came after thorough discussions with members of his foundation, political allies, and community representatives.
“Upon thoroughly analyzing the political environment and Dr. Gwamna’s objectives, I concluded that backing the APC candidate is the most beneficial route for the ongoing progress of Gombe State,” Mohammed stated.
The politician highlighted that Governor Yahaya’s achievements have made the party’s campaign significantly easier.
Mohammed stated, “The contributions of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to Gombe State are evident to all.” Even individuals not originating from Gombe can observe the change.
“Due to these accomplishments, we are confident that the APC is in an excellent position as we approach the election.”
Mohammed emphasized the importance of unity among members as he expressed confidence in the party’s potential for the 2027 elections.
“I urge all APC members to unite, back our candidate, and strive for the advancement of our party and the ongoing development of Gombe State,” he appealed.
In response, the APC governorship candidate, Dr. Jamilu Gwamna, praised Kombat for his dedication to youth development and characterized him as a vital organizer for the party.
“We value his determination in uniting everyone and for prioritizing the youth of our state.” Those who neglect the youth neglect the future of their society. In Kombat, we discovered an individual who has faith in Gombe’s future.
Gwamna promised that, if he becomes governor in 2027, his administration will focus on creating job opportunities for young people and women by supporting entrepreneurship, skills development initiatives, and policies designed to promote economic growth.
He urged party members to collaborate in order to achieve success for the APC at every level.

The APC flag bearer also declared Kombat as one of the leading campaign coordinators for the party, stating, “Starting today, Engr. Aliyu Kombat leads this fight. I trust in his ability to rally our supporters and achieve success for the APC. “Insha Allah, he will achieve success.”
Similarly, the representative of Yamaltu/Deba Federal Constituency, Hon. Inuwa Garba, characterized the endorsement as a significant enhancement to the APC’s cohesion in Gombe State.
He praised Mohammed for prioritizing the party’s interests over personal goals and encouraged members to stay dedicated to securing success for all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Previously, the Chairman of the Kombat Humanitarian Foundation, Hon. Abubakar Danzaria, commended Mohammed’s humanitarian efforts throughout the state, stating that his programs had favorably affected at-risk communities and showcased his dedication to public service.
Other party stakeholders, such as Hon. Bashir Santuraki, Hajiya Lailatu Deba, and Mr. Tanko Ishiyaku, committed to rallying support from their communities to secure a decisive win for the APC in the upcoming elections.
