Prior to the party’s primary elections, the All Progressives Grand Alliance has released the screening schedule for candidates running for Senate, House of Representatives, and state Assembly seats.
The screening for the Senate and House of Representatives will take place on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the APGA’s national offices in Abuja, according to a statement released on Sunday in Awka by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara.
On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the Anambra State House of Assembly screening will take place at the APGA’s regional office in Awka, Anambra State.
The announcement states that the screening would start at 10 a.m. on both days.
The APGA added that the schedule for screening candidates from states outside of Anambra will be announced in due course through official party channels and asked all applicants to rigorously adhere to the dates, times, and requirements mentioned above.
“This is to notify all APGA aspirants from Anambra State seeking nomination for national and state Assembly positions in the 2026 primary elections that the screening exercise shall hold as follows,” the notification said in part.
The Senate and House of Representatives national assembly posts will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026 at precisely 10 a.m. at the APGA National Headquarters in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
On Tuesday, May 12, at 10 a.m., the APGA’s regional headquarters in Awka will host the screening for candidates for the Anambra State House of Assembly.
“The screening locations will only be accessible to members of the screening committee and duly vetted candidates. To maintain discipline, everyone else is strongly encouraged to avoid the venues, including fans, assistants, and associates.
“To be seen by the Screening Committee, candidates must show up in person with the authentic certificate of their highest academic qualification. Originals are required; photocopies will not be accepted.
According to Opara, the APGA screening is free, and candidates are not obligated to pay any sum of money to any individual or committee under any pretense.
“The National Secretariat should be notified right away of any demand for payment.
The screening schedule for candidates from states other than Anambra will be announced through official party channels in due course.”
The statement went on, “All applicants are advised to strictly adhere to the dates, time, and requirements stated above.”
