The Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force, Kayode Egbetokun has appointed a new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Ogun State Police Command.
DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi was the deputy PPRO in the Lagos State Police Command prior to his appointment.
The new Ogun PPRO, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi holds an LL.B in Law from the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano; a Barrister-at-Law (BL) qualification from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus; and a Diploma in Law from Osun State University.
His academic and professional background offers a strong foundation in law enforcement operations, investigations, administration, and public relations. He is a renowned member of the Nigeria Police Academy’s 1st Regular Course.
He has worked across divisions and specialized units in several operational, investigative, and administrative roles.
Previously, he managed criminal investigations, oversaw staff, and organized crime prevention tactics while serving as the Officer-in-Charge of the Ilaji and Lagelu Police Posts in Oyo State and as the Divisional Crime Officer in the Monatan and Kajorepo Divisions.
His operational experience was further extended by a three-year deployment with the Police Mobile Force (22 PMF) as Unit Commander.
After completing his training at the Nigeria Army School of Special Forces in Buni Yadi in 2023, he went on to lead soldiers in joint military operations across Borno and Yobe states as part of Operation Hadin Kai.
He also possesses a wealth of experience in police administration and strategic communication, having served as Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command and as Secretary to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, where he was deeply involved in command administration and high-level coordination.
He made a name for himself in information management and media relations prior to his most recent assignment as Ogun State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer.
