After country music superstar Dolly Parton passed away on Tuesday at the age of 80, American artist Beyonce paid a touching tribute to her, sparking an outpouring of tributes from the entertainment industry.
In a statement that was published on her official website, beyonce.com, Beyonce wrote, ”Dolly, you were the barometer, the north star, audacious and smart, gifted and persistent. You imparted a wealth of knowledge about how to be oneself. I appreciate your creativity, kindness, generosity, humor, and entrepreneurial spirit.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with you. I will always cherish that. I am grateful for your significant influence on the planet. Because of your joyful art, you are an angel who has brought happiness to this planet, you really are unique. Rest in peace.”
Parton and Beyonce worked together on the singer’s 2024 album Cowboy Carter. Parton contributed to the song Tyrant and made an appearance on the Dolly P interlude.
For the album, Beyonce also recorded a revised version of Parton’s iconic hit song Jolene, which Parton openly applauded at the time.
According to the reports, several well-known musicians have also honored the deceased legend.
Taylor Swift was quoted in their report on Wednesday as stating, “A world without Dolly doesn’t feel possible, real, or right. However, her legacy will survive forever due to the innumerable lives she improved and the perpetually giving way she spent her time on this planet. She was certainly the gift that kept on giving.
“Dolly encouraged us to be our unique selves while providing us with an inspiration. She was a stunning individual who embodied both great grace and true grit. She had a strong backbone to protect her own value as an artist, but she also had the softest heart when it came to other people’s hardships. I will keep you in mind at every turn, Dolly.
According to reports, Sir Elton John was “shocked and devastated” by the news of Parton’s passing and called her “a giant of an artist, unique and irreplaceable, with the kindest heart.”
Sir Paul McCartney, who worked with Parton on a cover of Let It Be for her Rockstar album, wrote: “The magnificent star Dolly Parton has died and it is so sad.” What a lovely woman she was, according to reports.
It is difficult to picture a world without Dolly because of her unparalleled songwriting, singing, and generosity in the country music industry. I am grateful to Dolly for providing the world and me with such lovely music. God bless you and may you rest in peace; we will always adore you. You were the greatest.
