Ibraheem Adekunle has been declared the Allied Peoples Movement party’s Osun State chapter’s nominee for Osun Central Senatorial District in the general elections of 2027.
Additionally, the party stated that it was prepared to surprise other parties running candidates in the election.
Members were instructed to put in a lot of effort and mobilise support for all APM flag bearers at the unveiling, which took place in Osogbo, Osun State. The party also introduced candidates for other positions in the upcoming general elections.
Adekunle’s signed statement, which was acquired in Osogbo on Friday, revealed this.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the party’s Osun Central Senatorial candidate stated that the electorate’s acceptance of the candidate will determine the outcome of the election rather than the political platform alone.
The APM senatorial candidate stated that his structure and grassroots connections throughout the district’s ten local government areas have given him an advantage over his rivals. He expressed confidence in winning the seat in the election scheduled for January 16, 2027.
“Party designations are no longer relevant in Nigerian elections. These days, people consider a candidate’s ability, reliability, and accessibility. I have the framework, the people’s backing, and I have been on the ground. With all of them, I am confident that we can win Osun Central.
Elections are now more on the candidate’s structure and the public’s support than they are about political parties. Without a doubt, I will be elected to the Osun Central Senate. Opposition doesn’t worry me. I’m capable of winning. At the poll, APM will surprise its rivals, according to Adekunle.
Noting that the APM is a youth-driven party, he asked Osun residents to cast their votes for dynamic and approachable MPs.
“I want the people of Osun to vote for dynamic individuals to represent them at the state and federal levels under the APM platform.
Adekunle continued, “This party is for the youths, and the youths should take advantage of this opportunity to vote for someone who will be on the ground at all times to listen to them and work to improve their lives.”
Adewale Adebayo, the Osun APM Chairman, had stated that Osun Central deserved a young person capable of holding political office and emphasised that the high attendance at the unveiling ceremony was a sign of the public’s endorsement of the party’s nominee.
“Osun Central needs energy, new ideas, and a representative who will not abandon his people after election,” stated Adebayo. It is evident from what you are witnessing today that both our party and our candidate have been approved. For genuine change, I implore our people to back and cast their votes for Adekunle and other APM candidates.
Speaking to the crowd, Babatunde Tijani, the party’s presidential candidate in the 2027 general elections, stated that APM was well-positioned to win the presidential election.
He urged party members to “start the real work” by going back to their respective constituencies. We must organise and inform the populace that the APM is the ideal party for them. Our citizens should present their Permanent Voter Cards, and those who haven’t yet should go pick them up.
According to reports, Adekunle was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party and distributed food palliatives to party members in the Osun Central Senatorial District in order to lessen the impact of the difficult economic conditions on them prior to being the Osun Central Senatorial APM candidate.
The Osun Central Senatorial District PDP leadership praised Adekunle for giving 3,000 bags of rice to the party members in the district after receiving the food items.
Lukman Akintunde, the Osun Central Senatorial Youth Leader, and Mr. Amzat Ademola, the PDP Chairman of Olorunda Local Government, accepted the food supplies at the PDP State Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun State.
While distributing the food supplies, Mr. Seyi Bamidele, the South West Zonal PDP Youth Leader, stated that Adekunle was inspired to help the people because of the economic hardship that followed the Federal Government’s elimination of the petrol subsidy, even though he had only recently joined the party.
