Temitope Osoba, a well-known Nollywood actor, passed away at the age of 40.
In a heartfelt statement on his Instagram page on Wednesday, fellow actor Alesh Sanni revealed her passing.
Sanni, who described the actress as a loving sister with whom he shared special moments, expressed his sorrow at the loss and said he had not been able to sleep since learning of her passing.
“Couldn’t sleep since last night, it’s well,” he wrote. Temitope Osoba, my darling sister, may you rest in peace. Until we cross paths again, we had a great time and made wonderful memories. Oh my goodness, I have no idea what to say.
Adeyemo Seilat, another thespian who is grieving, posted on her Instagram reel, “Sigh! I detest learning of young people’s deaths. It’s all vanity! Tope Osoba, rest in peace. I hope you find eternal peace.
The cause of Osoba’s death was still unknown at the time this article was filed.
About two years after disclosing her fight with cancer and asking for public assistance for her treatment, Osoba passed away.
On August 4, 2025, the actress sent a poignant message to her fans announcing her comeback to the film industry after recovering from cancer. She described the experience as a transformative journey that changed her life and profession.
“Dear beloved fans, supporters, and loved ones, I’m Temitope Osoba, and I’m excited to announce my reintroduction after my cancer experience,” she wrote. This trip has been a pivotal moment that has resulted in my rebuilding, restructuring, and rebranding. I’m becoming more resilient, stronger, and enthusiastic about telling my story and motivating others.
She went on to declare that her new chapter was centered on empowerment, growth, and recovery, and she was dedicated to using her platform to raise awareness of cancer and assist those going through comparable struggles.
The actress revealed that she was open to endorsements, acting roles, and event collaborations as she sought to revive her career after her recovery. She also thanked her new management team for supporting her during the trying time.
Osoba was well-known for her parts in a number of Yoruba-language Nollywood productions, and both fans and coworkers thought she was a gifted performer.
