Governor Hyacinth Alia was proclaimed the winner of the governorship primary on Friday by Professor Mohammed Kabiru Isa, the chairman of the Benue State Governorship Primary Election Committee.
According to the results, Terwase Orbunde and Jeffrey Kuranun were defeated by Alia by overwhelming numbers.
Isa said that Terwase Orbunde and Jeffrey Kuranun, who received 2,923 and 3,247 votes, respectively, were defeated by the incumbent governor, who received 367,786 votes.
Alia, who was there when the results were announced, urged all party members to support him.
“We are all APC members and we are all working for the advancement of the people of Benue State,” he declared. I encourage them to keep working with me in order to advance the state from its current position—from grace to the entire Spirit of God—once more.
Alia also took the chance to express her gratitude to his supporters, stating, “And to all those who were out there to do this franchise on me, I remain very grateful to them.”
“And I want to express my gratitude to everyone else in the state for their unwavering support of our government. You are the government, and it is your government. And since I have previously promised to make sure that advancement, growth, and human potential come in, it is my desire that your support will continue to come in,” he said.
