President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, met with former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike and former governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai at the Presidential villa in Abuja.
Both ex-governors were among the 48 ministerial nominees sent to the senate for screening and confirmation.
But while Wike passed the Senate screening, El-Rufai’s nomination has not been passed.
While Wike arrived at the Villa at about 1.40pm, El-Rufai arrived at about 2pm.
Sources at the Presidential Villa hinted that it was connected to El-Rufai’s ministerial nomination.
Asked when El-Rufai would likely be confirmed by the Senate, the source said, “That I don’t know but I’m sure everything will fall in line soon.”
Both ex governors declined to address reporters after their separate meetings with President Tinubu and no official information was forthcoming on what transpired between the President and the minister-nominees.
