On Monday, 24 July 2023, four were injured when a two-Storey building collapsed at Abangbe compound, Inalende, in Ibadan West Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The incident occurred 7:00a.m which threw residents of the area into panic.
Chief Abdulahi, who confirmed the incident, said “I received a call from a member of the family that one of our family houses had gone under.
I was shocked to hear the news; we met in the same building for a family meeting last Sunday and there was no prior sign as you can see the bricks from the debris that they were solid. It was a sudden incident.
Abdulahi further stated that inhabitants of the building were rescued. Though they were seriously injured, the rescue team from the neighborhood lends helping hands and they are responding to treatment.
Abdulahi also said, “I appealing to government to ensure proper channelization of water in the neighborhood. Most of the buildings in the neighborhood are ageing.”
According to him, “Properties were lost, but to the glory of God, no life was lost.
