Alhaji Abdulmutallib Sansani, a third-class Chief of Sansani Chiefdom in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State, was shot and killed by unidentified assailants on Thursday night.
The Monarch was killed at approximately 10:25 p.m., according to a local insider who prayed with the Chief prior to the occurrence but did not want his identity to be published due to the delicate nature of the situation.
He was slain by the gunmen when they followed him to one of his houses outside the palace.
“He was killed a few hours later, having left the palace after prayers at around 7 p.m.
We believe the gunmen were keeping an eye on him. The informant claimed that they followed him and assassinated him in one of his homes away from the main castle.
