Nollywood actress and producer Debbie Shokoya, has dismissed the viral reports suggesting that Fuji music star Abass Akande Obesere is her biological father, describing them to be false and misleading information.
Shokoya voiced her disapproval of the accusation in a video posted on her Instagram page, claiming that she has never communicated with the musician and did not say the things that were ascribed to her.
She questioned the intent behind the dissemination of such false material, characterizing the claim as wholly contrived.
The actress also denounced the lack of confirmation from various media outlets and pundits, pointing out that the fabricated story had led to a barrage of derogatory comments aimed at her.
Shokoya emphasized that she has never met Obesere and has no personal relationship to him while urging bloggers and the general public to stop spreading unsubstantiated claims and to correct the false reports.
Debbie said, “It is not funny anymore; the news is everywhere. I have never met Obesere before, and you claim I said he’s my biological father? Don’t I look like my father? Am I not my biological father’s replica?
“Obesere is not my biological father. Please stop spreading fake news! Stop writing or posting things I never said. Some commentators do not even think well enough to know that these things are fake; they start to throw abuses.
I’ve never said or written this, nor did I cry out as they claimed. Please stop spreading false news. Bloggers should also post this video the same way they were quick to jump on that misconception,” she said.
