Gbenga Daniel, a former governor of Ogun State and senator from Ogun East, and his successor, Ibikunle Amosun, are among those designated to lead the All Progressives Congress campaign in the state before to the 2027 elections.
Governor Dapo Abiodun was appointed head of the APC Campaign Council in a document made accessible to journalists on Tuesday and signed by the party’s state leader, Yemi Sanusi.
Lekan Mustapha, a former senator from Ogun East, is the Director-General, while Solomon Adeola, also known as Yayi, the party’s candidate for governor and senator from Ogun West, is co-chairman.
Olusegun Osoba, a former governor and national head of the party, was named grand patron of the campaign council, while Daniel and Amosun were named deputy grand patrons.
Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the deputy governor, and Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, the party’s deputy governorship candidate, are among the other 156 members of the campaign committee. They will act as the campaign team’s deputy chairs.
Yemi Sanusi, the state party chairman, will be the vice-chairman, while Tokunbo Talabi, the secretary to the state government, and Kunle Salako, the minister of state for health, would be the vise directors general of campaign operations and administration, respectively.
Members of many committees tasked with spearheading the party’s campaign and mobilization efforts throughout the state’s 20 local government districts were also listed by the party in the official list that was made public on Tuesday.
Party officials, political players, and other important APC members make up the campaign council, which is tasked with organizing grassroots mobilization, media and publicity, logistics, contact and mobilization, youth and women’s participation, and other crucial campaign elements.
The committees were established “to strengthen the party’s structures and ensure effective coordination of its activities ahead of the 2027 elections,” according to Sanusi.
In order to secure a landslide victory for the APC in the presidential, gubernatorial, senatorial, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly elections, he instructed members of the various committees to collaborate.
As the party steps up its mobilization and consolidation activities throughout Ogun State, the announcement of the campaign structure was a significant step in the APC’s 2027 election preparations, according to the statement.
