Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, the former governor of Kogi State, passed away. Alhaji Murtala Ajaka, an ex-governorship candidate in the 2023 election, expressed profound sadness over his demise, characterising it as a major loss to his family and the Kogi State populace.
Prince Tijani Daud, his Head of Media & Public Communications, made this announcement in a statement on Monday.
Ajaka wrote in a condolence note that the former governor, who served Kogi State for almost nine years between 2003 and 2012, held a significant position in the state’s political history.
He declared that Alhaji Ibrahim Idris would be remembered for his years of public service and his position as an elder statesman who helped the state advance politically and developmentally.
“His immediate family, the people of Kogi State, and everyone he touched during his years of public service are all grieving over this death.
His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, continued to play a significant role in Kogi State’s political history while serving our state at the highest level. Ajaka stated, “His passing signifies the end of a significant chapter in our state.”
He sent his condolences to the Igala Kingdom, the Omala Local Government Area, the deceased’s immediate family, and the whole Kogi State population.
Ajaka appealed to Almighty Allah to grant the former governor Al-Jannah Firdaus, pardon his transgressions, and give his family and loved ones the fortitude to endure the loss.
