As reported by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, a female driver lost control of her car and collided with a wayside building in a single traffic accident at Mongoro, inner Ile-Zik, resulting in her death.

The deceased was operating a Toyota Sienna with registration number LND 162 HB at the time of the collision, according to preliminary investigations, according to a statement released on Sunday by LASTMA spokesperson Adebayo Taofiq.

According to Taofiq, the automobile went off the carriageway and crashed into a building after the driver, who was the only one inside, lost control.

“The ferocity of the impact proved catastrophic, resulting in her instantaneous death,” according to LASTMA.

In order to stop more accidents and facilitate traffic flow, he saw that LASTMA officials, who were on regular patrol in the area, promptly responded to the scene by cordoning off the impacted portion of the road.

He continued by saying that even though the collision momentarily interfered with traffic, the staff’s quick action quickly allowed cars to move freely again.

Olalekan Bakare-Oki, General Manager of LASTMA, responded to the occurrence by characterizing it as a sad reminder of the risks connected to speeding and careless driving.

“Every journey must be undertaken with prudence, patience, and an unwavering commitment to established traffic regulations,” he stated. The ultimate price of human life is not worth any destination.

“Drivers must always exercise the highest degree of caution, restraint, and responsibility while behind the wheel, as excessive speed continues to be one of the leading causes of fatal road traffic crashes.”

Additionally, he emphasized that any indication of a technical flaw should be fixed before driving and advised drivers to make sure their cars were mechanically sound before starting any trip.

The organization prayed for the strength to deal with the loss and sent its condolences to the deceased’s family.

Three persons were hurt in three different accidents early on Saturday, but no one was killed.

Olawale Afolabi, a spokeswoman for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, said that the incidents happened at Oba Ogunji Road in Ikeja, Olupese Bus Stop in Oshodi, and Aswani Bus Stop in Iyana Isolo.
